WomenCentre is a registered charity based in the heart of the glorious Pennines in West Yorkshire with a mission to improve the quality of life for women both locally and nationally.
As an organisation we have nearly 50 years experience of women`s issues and women`s lives.
We deliver, develop and promote holistic, one-stop-shop services from centre and community based settings which enable women to address often multiple needs and aspirations.
WomenCentre enables women to:
- improve health and well-being
- increase training and employment opportunities for improved economic conditions
- raise self-confidence, self-esteem and social interaction skills
- improve citizenship and social inclusion
- support the development of positive, safe and stable circumstances and relationships
- improve safety and wellbeing of their children
WomenCentre works to provide specialist women’s and children’s services and any woman can join us to support our work with women and children, in order to make a difference to their lives and wellbeing.

We have one stop shop offices based centrally in Halifax and Huddersfield and we provide outreach support services to women and children throughout Calderdale and Kirklees.
As you will see when you explore our website we offer a wide range of services and support to women and children, including emotional and practical support on issues such as debt, benefits, mental or physical health, domestic violence, counselling, training and development and much more.
Nationally we champion the needs of women through influencing policy and developing awareness. WomenCentre hosts and supports the development of Women’s Breakout, the umbrella body of women’s community services linked to criminal justice. WomenCentre provides development support to women’s projects and initiatives and works with statutory agencies across the North of England to improve outcomes for women and children.
